New Delhi: In a joint operation, the Haryana Police Special Task Force (STF) and the Delhi Police Special Cell shot dead two alleged members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang during an armed encounter in Haryana’s Bahadurgarh. The two men were wanted in connection with the murder of Hansi-based gym trainer Kapil Redhu last month.
The deceased have been identified as Parvesh and Himanshu, both residents of Hisar district. According to police, the duo were allegedly operating under the directions of fugitive gangster Anil Pandit, who is believed to be based overseas and linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi criminal network.
Police said the joint team tracked down the suspects and surrounded them during the operation. Officers reportedly asked the accused to surrender, but they allegedly opened fire on the police personnel. The security forces returned fire in what officials described as an act of self-defence.
Both suspects sustained gunshot injuries in the exchange of fire and were rushed to a nearby hospital, where they were declared dead by doctors.
A Delhi Police Special Cell constable, identified as Ankit, suffered a bullet injury to his leg during the encounter and is currently undergoing medical treatment. His condition has not been officially disclosed.

The two men were wanted in the sensational murder of 25-year-old gym trainer Kapil Redhu, who was shot dead on June 10 while conducting an outdoor fitness session near Fawwara Chowk in Hansi, Haryana. According to investigators, two motorcycle-borne assailants fired multiple rounds at close range, killing Redhu on the spot. A woman participating in the training session was also injured by bullet fragments during the attack.
Following the killing, the Lawrence Bishnoi gang had allegedly claimed responsibility for the murder, prompting an intensive investigation by Haryana Police.
Officials said preliminary findings indicated that Parvesh and Himanshu were associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi-linked organised crime network. Authorities are continuing their investigation to identify other individuals involved in the conspiracy and trace the broader criminal network behind the attack. As per established legal procedure, the police encounter and the circumstances surrounding the deaths of the two accused will be subject to the mandatory statutory inquiry.
